Statue of Commodore Perry

Loading up the Statue

We have been involved in many large and small moves, as well as many interesting ones. In May, 1997 we transported a clay model of the statue of Commodore Perry which has formerly graced the foot of hood park on the Maumee River in Perrysburg, Ohio. A new statue had been commissioned as the marble of the old statue was deteriorating. The clay model was cast in bronze by Lynn Hayes of Daedalus Foundry, Petersburg, Michigan. When it was completed Johnstone transported it back to Hood Park in Perrysburg, Ohio for a unveiling ceremony for Memorial Day.
